With the assistance of the Topeka Public Schools Foundation, Advisors Excel granted a wish of providing items to each school in the district.
Last spring Pamela Johnson-Betts contacted every TPS principal and asked them to draw up a wish list of items needed in their school. This fall, those that submitted a wish list got a visit from Advisors Excel associates bearing gifts and answering the call for assistance. The company donated $250 worth of supplies (such as games, recess items, school supplies, socks, toiletries and many other items) to 19 TPS schools.
Tamra Scheid, from Advisors Excel reported that adopting Topeka Public Schools has been a great project. She reported they have received "wonderful feedback from staff" for this endeavor.
Pamela Johnson-Betts said the Foundation was pleased to help broker the connection as "helping businesses engage with TPS heightens community awareness of what is needed in schools, while simultaneously building relationships that help our students and staff." Pamela also enlisted the organization's involvement in the annual ShareFest event and 15 Advisors Excel Associates signed up to work in that activity as well.
