Topeka Public Schools Upgrade to Online Benefit Enrollment
Unlike years past, employees won’t stand in line at the mandatory Benefits Fair because Topeka Public Schools is transitioning to online benefit enrollment.
During open enrollment, which begins August 4, 2014 until August 18, 2014, employees can log in to the online communication portal to enroll in benefits for the 2014-2015 school year. Carla Nolan, General Director of Human Resources, explains, “On-line enrollment makes the process easier for employees, with 24/7 access to the enrollment portal, and the ability to enroll from any electronic device with internet access.”
Beginning Monday, May 5, 2014, employees can access the communication portal to register as a new member, but can’t begin enrolling until August 4. Once registered, employees can explore the communication portal and create a new member profile. Use the Self-Registration Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Although not mandatory, TPS will host the Benefits Fair at Jardine Middle School on Monday, August 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to ensure employees still have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the District’s insurance providers. The Human Resources department will provide support to employees without internet access or who need navigation assistance. HR staff will be available August 6-18, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.
